Quick Confession: I'm tired of writing about diabetes, so bear with me while I change focus for a while.
With that said, the fantastic folks at Bethany House Publishing sent me another book to review. Sadly, the book sat on my nightstand for a while because life got so busy. But once I started "Almost Amish" by Kathryn Cushman, I just couldn't put it down!
If you've never read Amish fiction, this would be a great place to start because it revolves around a typical family tossed into a realty show about the Amish life. It's a perfect mix of contemporary life mixed with the Amish lifestyle.
It also makes you think about your life. What's really important? Do you focus on "stuff" or do you set priorities?
Truthfully, I think this is a great book for D-Moms. We don't have the time or the energy to have a Martha Stewart house.
And that's perfectly okay. It's more than okay!
Because in a few short years, Matthew will move out of this house. He'll never remember that I hated to dust the house, but he'll surely remember all the fun we've had together!

"He'll never remember that I hated to dust the house, but he'll surely remember all the fun we've had together!" So so true. Great reminder to think about what's really important.
Your so right...my little guy could care less about how the house looks just as long as I am there to play with him! My Mom loves reading Amish fiction and is reading a new book everytime I see her.
