Hmm.....Lesson Learned

Matthew's BG: 54

He eats a glucose tab. Waits a bit.

Checks BG again: 466! You should have seen his jaw drop.

Hmmmm........did he clean all that powdery glucose tab residue off his finger? I think not.

Checks BG again: 82

Matthew's lesson of the day: CLEAN YOUR FINGER, DUDE!

So funny...I am soo used to feeding Joe glucose tabs and starbursts like a mother bird. He tilts his head back (been doing it since he was three) and I plop them in. I sooo don't want to deal with a false high so I don't let him touch the things...but I think we may be looking a bit silly as of late. My baby is growing up.

WOW!! What a great reminder!! When ever we get those crazy high numbers I always recheck cause I am scared to correct... THANKS for the reminder :)

Oh my goodness, my jaw dropped too! Glad it was an error.

That has happened to us so many times! In fact, Adam gets mad at me now, because I "feed" him the tabs and don't let him touch them. :)

Been there. Glad it was just the powder. :)

Hahahahahahahahaha! Now I have a CONCRETE example of how to answer: "But, why do I have to wash my hands? I just did 15 minutes ago!!!!" Awesome.

Definitely good lesson! I have wondered how drastic the difference would be and now I know to watch that and make sure hands are clean!
